John is a partner with the firm’s Environmental and Public Policy teams. With 20 years of experience in federal and state government and the private sector, John assists clients in developing and implementing environmental, natural resource, and energy policy strategies in Texas and at the federal level. He chaired the Environmental Protection Agency's National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology, served as the Federal Environmental Executive, and worked in the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Texas Governor's Policy Office, as well as law firms in Austin and Washington, D.C. He has led interagency councils, represented the United States and Texas, and assisted a wide range of clients on such issues as climate change, sustainable buildings, recycling, water supply and infrastructure, biofuels, environmental management systems, air quality permits, environmental technology, vehicle fuel efficiency, environmental indicators, stewardship, and sustainability.
