Joel Hinzman joined Oracle in November of 2003 as Director of Federal & Legislative Affairs. In this capacity he represents Oracle to members of Congress and the Executive Branch, and lobbies on issues critical to Oracle's government business, including Health IT, Procurement, Appropriations, and other technology issues. Prior to joining Oracle, he was an Appointee at the General Services Administration (GSA), where he was responsible for working on legislation, Congressional oversight, and tracking procurement and technology issues involving two of GSA's service branches, the Federal Supply Service and the Federal Technology Service, as well as GSA's Office of Government-wide Policy. Prior to his appointment at GSA, Mr. Hinzman worked for the U.S. House of Representatives as a professional staff member for Congressman Bob Stump, chairman of the House Veteran's Affairs Committee, and Congressman Bill Thomas, chairman of the House Administration Committee. Mr. Hinzman graduated from the University of Maryland - College Park in 1993 and became a licensed stockbroker in the same year. He has completed post-graduate coursework in Congressional legislative and parliamentary procedure.
