Most recently a Senior Policy Advisor at the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP, Christian Zur joined P3 Consulting with over 13 years in government service, including six years as a Professional Staff Member on the House Armed Services Committee. Mr. Zur also served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Congressman Peter Torkildsen of Massachusetts, Military Legislative Assistant to Congressman David Mann of Ohio, and Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator William Cohen of Maine. He began his career at the Maine Department of Transportation specializing in fuel tax and environmental policy. Mr. Zur has considerable political and campaign experience, most recently as a member of the Bush-Cheney campaign field staff in 2000. Recently, Mr. Zur served as a consultant to the Department of Defense where he advised the Chair of the Defense Policy Board. While on staff of the House Armed Services Committee, Mr. Zur worked directly for Chairmen Floyd Spence and Bob Stump and was responsible for committee budget hearings with the Secretary of Defense and the secretaries of the Military Services. In addition, he managed $1.1 billion in annual defense authorization of appropriations for procurement, research and development, and operations and maintenance programs. He also coordinated classified intelligence briefings on terrorism and worldwide threats, and oversaw Department of Defense joint activities with the U.S. Customs Service and U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Zur earned a Bachelor's Degree cum laude in history from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Masters of Public Administration from George Mason University. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Naval War College, Command and Staff College, and received a fellowship from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Zur was appointed in 2004 by the Arlington County Board to serve a four year term on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
