On Sunday March 22 2020, he died suddenly at the age of 69, the cause undetermined. He is survived by his wife Carolyn and son Will. A legend in Boston political circles, Rasky worked on political campaigns for decades, employed by a roster of politicians ranging from former President Jimmy Carter to John Kerry to former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn. Rasky had worked on both of Joe Biden’s previous presidential bids and most recently served as treasurer on a pro-Biden super PAC, Unite the Country. Larry is chairman and CEO of Rasky Baerlein. He has more than 30 years of experience in public policy and media relations. The clients who have benefited from his well-honed abilities include start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and government officials. In 2007, Larry took a leave from the firm to join the “Biden for President” campaign as its communications director. He previously served as press secretary for then Senator Joseph Biden’s 1988 presidential bid. Prior to launching Rasky Baerlein, Larry worked as special assistant for Policy and Communications for Congressman Ed Markey and the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and Finance. He served as a communications director for John Kerry’s first Senate campaign, and deputy press secretary for President Jimmy Carter’s re-election campaign. Previously, Larry was Director of Public Affairs for Cablevision Systems Corporations in Boston. Larry is a board member of the New England Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. He is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Emerson College, his Alma Mater.
