Nathaniel Dorfman

Deputy Counsel at the NYS Department of Financial Services

Nathaniel Dorfman has been appointed Deputy Counsel at the Department of Financial Services. Previously, he was a partner at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP. Prior to that, he was Assistant Counsel to the Governor where he also served as the ethics officer for the Executive Chamber. In addition, Mr. Dorfman has held multiple positions at the United States Department of Justice, including Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of New York and Trial Attorney in the Tax Division, Civil Trial Section. Mr. Dorfman has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and B.S. from Cornell University.
