Mr. Voss was a rifle commander in the U.S. Marine Corps, who earned the rank of captain, before moving to Rochester in 1965 and joining Diamond Packaging's team of fewer than 10 employees. He bought controlling interest in the company eight years later, and led its growth to more than 250 employees while providing packaging services for such clients as Bausch + Lomb Inc., Gillette and Procter & Gamble, and several other national brands. He was a member of the Rochester Yacht Club who competed all over the world. He also was a member of the Masonic Order, Seneca Lodge No. 797 and the Country Club of Rochester. Mr. Voss is survived by his wife, Cathy Voss; children, Karla (Dan) Fichter, Lisa (Mark) Palvino, Eric (Michele) Voss, Kirsten Werner; and the mother of his children, Gretchen Voss; grandchildren, Kimberly Gerrie, Kurt Voss, Kathryn Voss, Alyssa Gerrie, Lauren Gerrie, Camden Palvino, Kyle Palvino, Steven Werner, Chase Werner, Colt Fichter, and Austin Werner.
