John Brooks is president and CEO of Joslin Diabetes Center. Joslin is a global leader in all aspects of diabetes research, care, prevention, and education. Brooks has co-founded a number of life sciences companies, including Insulet, creator of the OmniPod device, the world’s first tubing-free insulin pump. He has been a principal of Healthcare Capital Consulting LLC, which advises early-stage life sciences companies, and a founder of PrismVentureWorks, which raised more than $1.25 billion in capital. Brooks also was a general manager at Pfizer/Valleylab, where he was responsible for Pfizer’s Hospital Products Group’s minimally invasive surgery and new medical technologies business. As president and general manager at Pfizer/Strato, he led the growth of a rapidly evolving vascular access medical device business. Brooks holds an MSBA and a BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner.
