Amy Davine Kim

Amy Davine Kim advises clients in the areas of international private equity transactions and the U.S. regulation of international business. With respect to private equity transactions, Ms. Kim advises on the legal aspects of structuring and participating in investment funds that make real estate and corporate securities investments worldwide. She routinely counsels clients and foreign institutional investors in the drafting and review of partnership and limited liability company agreements related to such investments. Ms. Kim also counsels clients on a variety of complex trade issues involving export and import laws and regulations. In particular, Ms. Kim provides legal advice and assistance in matters involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Bureau of Industry and Security, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and anti-boycott laws, among others, and assists clients in creating international compliance programs. She also helps international clients and foreign governments navigate complex contractual and diplomatic matters, including issues involving multilateral and bilateral agreements. Ms. Kim has a strong commitment to pro bono legal work, and has assisted in matters to advance bipartisan legislation involving missing and exploited children. In addition, she has worked closely with children’s and maternal health organizations to advance their programs, as well as advised organizations in ways to lawfully export humanitarian assistance to countries subject to U.S. embargo.
