James J Howard

James J. Howard served as the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Northern States Power Company from 1994 to August 2000 and previously served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1988 to 1994. Mr. Howard joined Northern States Power in 1987. He served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Ameritech Corp., until 1987. He serves as the Chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He served as the Chairman of Xcel Energy Inc., (formerly Northern States Power Company) from August 2000 to August 2001 and also served as its Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Howard has been a Director of Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., since 1999. He serves as a Director of Honeywell Aerospace. He served as a Director of Honeywell International Inc., from 1999 to April 28, 2008. He served as an Independent Director of Ecolab Inc., from 1991 to February 2006. He served as a Director of Northern States Power Company. He served as a Director of Honeywell Inc., from July 1990 to December 1999. He served as a Director of ReliaStar Financial Corp., since 1993, NRG Energy Inc., since June 2000, Walgreen Company from 1986 to January 2008 and Xcel Energy Inc.
