Weldon J Rougeau

Weldon J. Rougeau will join the firm’s government relations practice as Counsel, effective December 1, 2004. Rougeau is currently President of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc., a non-partisan foundation focused on research, leadership and economic and public policy development. He has more than 30 years of experience in governmental affairs and compliance issues. Rougeau has an extensive background in law, government, financial services, higher education, civil rights and health care. At Arent Fox, he will work closely with the firm’s clients seeking to navigate the legislative and policy arena, as well as counsel the firm on overall strategic initiatives. At the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc., Rougeau interacted with members of the Congressional Black Caucus, state legislators, other elected officials, business leaders, foreign governments, leaders of minority-focused organizations and organized labor. Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Loyola University Health System in Illinois, where his most recent role was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer responsible for corporate health care compliance, government affairs and community relations. Rougeau received a B.S. in sociology from Loyola University of Chicago in 1967 and a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1972. He has received many awards in recognition of his work, including a 1988 Task Force of the Decade Award from the U.S. Department of Labor.
