Sandor Straus

Sandor Straus, Ph.D serves as Manager of Sumatra Futures Fund, LP, Nias Futures Fund Ltd., and Quacking Moose Fund, LLC. Mr. Straus serves as Managing Member of Merfin, LLC, a financial consulting firm. Sandor Straus is Executive Vice President of Edgestream Partners, L.P., an investment management firm. He is also president of the Firedoll Foundation and Manager of Tigmera, LLC. He was previously a partner of Renaissance Technologies Corp. and a manager of the Medallion Fund. In addition to serving on the Board of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute, he serves as the Chair of the Board of the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, as Board Treasurer of the Marine Mammal Center, and on the Board of New Media Ventures. He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1972 and has been on the faculty at Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and the State University of New York at Stony Brook
