John L. Tague, Jr. was appointed to serve on the Commission on Human Relations by Mayor Luke Ravenstahl in May of 2012. Commissioner Tague is a public policy consultant, who has provides public policy support to United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Pittsburgh since 2005. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1969. An Erie native, Commissioner Tague has dedicated his career to ensure the right of persons with disabilities to live independently in their community. Commissioner Tague has been committed to improving the lives of persons with disabilities in Pennsylvania for over two decades. He currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Transportation Alliance, where he works to improve public transportation services for the disability community throughout the state. In addition, Commissioner Tague is a member of the Committee for Accessible Transportation dedicated to improving transit for individuals with disabilities in Allegheny County. He is a past president of the Allegheny County Transit Council where he promoted concerns of frequent transit users. In addition, Commissioner Tague serves as a board member of ACTION Housing and the Vocational Rehabilitation State Board. Commissioner Tague is treasurer of the City of Pittsburgh/ Allegheny County Taskforce on Disabilities and Chairperson of the Governor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities.
