Paul J. Liska, 52, is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Motorola, Inc. He is responsible for company-wide treasury, tax, audit, financial and managerial reporting, forecasting and planning, internal accounting controls, investor relations, real estate and the Motorola Credit Corporation. Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Liska served as an industrial partner for various private equity firms including MidOcean Partners, CVC Capital Holdings and Ripplewood Holdings LLC. From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Liska served as executive chairman of US Freightways until its purchase by Yellow Roadway Corporation and in various capacities with Weekly Reader Companies, including executive chairman and chief executive officer. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Liska held several positions with Sears, Roebuck and Co., including president of credit and financial products and executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Sears, Mr. Liska was executive vice president and chief financial officer of The St. Paul Companies from 1997 to 2001. Mr. Liska also previously served as president and chief executive officer of Specialty Foods Corporation and in various financial roles at Kraft General Foods Corporation. He began his career as an accountant at Price Waterhouse and Co. Mr. Liska received a Master of Management Degree, with high honors, from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, with high honors, from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Liska serves on the Board of Directors for CNA Financial Corporation, Hunter Fan Company and Bushnell Company.
