James Rosenfield, Senior Vice President, IHS, is cofounder of IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates (IHS CERA). Mr. Rosenfield created and is cochairman, with Daniel Yergin, of IHS CERAWeek, the premier international gathering of senior energy executives and officials, whose evolution he has overseen for over three decades. Mr. Rosenfield spearheads key global IHS energy initiatives, including “The Unconventional Gas Revolution and the Carbon Agenda,” “North America’s New Energy Future,” “Challenge to Germany’s Global Competitiveness in a New Energy World,” and the annual IHS–World Economic Forum (WEF) Energy Vision report. He has spoken at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, at the United Nations in Geneva, and at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, among other symposia. Mr. Rosenfield leads the IHS CERAWeek Innovation Pioneers Program and is on the Selection Committee of the WEF Technology Pioneers Program. He is a founder of the New England Clean Energy Council and is nonexecutive Director of the technology firms Aircuity, AzimaDLI, and Acumentrics Corporation. He is a Trustee of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Mr. Rosenfield received his undergraduate education at Harvard College and holds an MBA from Boston University. He completed the Senior Fellow Program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government in 2007.
