Susan Lent advises clients on infrastructure and energy matters before Congress and executive branch agencies. Ms. Lent counsels clients on the development and implementation of transportation and other infrastructure projects, including compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act, and relevant labor laws and procurement requirements. She also advises clients on energy policy, including renewable energy. The matters she has worked on include wind energy and hybrid vehicle systems. She also has advised clients on developments with climate change policy. Ms. Lent served on the Transportation Advisory Committee for the Bush-Cheney Transition. Before joining Akin Gump, she served as counsel to the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and as counsel for Investigations and Oversight, U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, where she was involved in all aspects of the enactment of the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century. Prior to joining the government, Ms. Lent was an attorney at McKenna & Cuneo focusing on government contracts law. Ms. Lent earned her B.A. in political science and psychology in 1983 from Emory University and her J.D. in 1986 from the George Washington University. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
