Charles W Hayes

Charles W. Hayes brings to FBA over thirty-five years experience in high technology general management, finance, marketing, and sales. This experience includes over ten years in the high performance technical computing industry in various government affairs positions engaged in government policy, program, and funding issues. He has particular experience and knowledge of policies and programs in the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, NASA, and the classified agencies. Charles is currently the Principal of HCS, a government affairs private practice, located in Bethesda, MD, providing consulting services to clients before the U.S. Government federal agencies and the U.S. Congress in high technology policy and funding initiatives, with emphasis on, but not limited to the high performance computing industry. Current clients include: the Asian Technology Information Program, Imation Inc., Unlimited Scales, Inc., International Data Corp., and American Environmental Systems, Inc. Previously, Charles was founder, President, and CEO of Acuity Systems, Inc., a pioneer in automated refraction within ophthalmic instruments industry. He was also President and CEO of Vision Science, Inc., engaged in the in-office automated casting of spectacle lenses. He has experience with the professional venture capital community as well as experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions. Hayes is a graduate of the United States Military Academy and a life long resident of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
