Mr. Kaufman brings fifteen years of public affairs experience to our clients, where he concentrates his efforts in the areas of telecommunications, information technology, and health care. Prior to forming Cornerstone Government Affairs, he spent three years at one of Washington, D.C.’s largest government relations firms, where he led the company’s technology and telecommunications practice. Included among the clients he currently manages are Microsoft Corporation, CenturyTel, Aigis Blast Protection and the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. , where the company recently opened its first state government relations office. Traveling back and forth to Baton Rouge a couple of times a month, Mr. Kaufman is involved in a number of political and business activities, as well as managing clients at the state level including Centenary College of Louisiana. Mr. Kaufman spent five years on Capitol Hill working for two Louisiana members of Congress for whom he was a senior policy advisor. He has also been involved in various campaigns for Republican candidates at the local, state, and national levels. In addition to his government relations activities, Mr. Kaufman served as a press secretary on Capitol Hill and occasionally helps design communications and messaging activities on behalf of Cornerstone clients.
