Michael Schultz is a veteran investment professional with a career in the investment and financial services industry that spans forty years. He is currently senior vice president of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Kansas City, which he joined in 2008. Previously, he was the managing director of Sales for UBS, from 2000-2008, and the managing director of Sales for Piper Jaffray, from 1990-2000. He also served as the director of Trading/Sales at George K. Baum & Company, where he was a member of the Management Committee, and was manager of the Institutional Department for Merrill Lynch. Schultz has extensive experience serving on nonprofit boards. He is the immediate past president of the Jewish Community Foundation of Kansas City and also serves on the Board of the Kansas City Symphony Foundation, where he is treasurer. From 1995 to 1999, he served on the Board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. From 2005 to 2009, he served on the Board of the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute. Schultz received a bachelor's degree in history from Tufts University.
