Orlando Muyshondt is the Founder and Managing Partner of Tyrian Investments, a New York-based global long/short equity fund with an event tilt. Prior to founding Tyrian Investments in January 2010, he was a Partner, Portfolio Manager and Director of Research at Gracie Capital LP, an event-driven/multi-strategy fund. Orlando helped grow Gracie Capital from $200mm in 2002 to $1.8bn in 2008. From 1994 to 2002, Orlando worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers where he was a Portfolio Manager for various investment vehicles investing in Latin America (1998 to 2002), including the flagship $1.5bn Merrill Lynch Latin American Fund (now Blackrock Latin America Fund). Orlando has extensive experience investing internationally, through various economic cycles, including the emerging market crisis in the 1990s. Orlando received a B.A. with a concentration in History and Economics from the University of Vermont in 1990 and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 1994.
