Tom Jurkovich, best known from his tenure as Nashville’s director of economic and community development under Mayor Bill Purcell, has joined the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. as vice president for corporate affairs effective April 11th. Jurkovich, who most recently headed up the Office of Flood Recovery for Mayor Karl Dean, will oversee a department responsible for communications, community relations and government affairs. He has an extensive and varied background in public affairs, both in corporate and government roles, including stints with Microsoft Corp., Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, AT&T and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Jurkovich is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University Of Tennessee College Of Law.
