Nonnie Burnes is a Senior University Fellow at Northeastern University, a position she has held since 2009. Nonnie works with the School of Public Policy to enhance their offerings; and often participates in law school faculty colloquia. She is also a retired judge for the Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, retired in 2007. While serving on the bench, Nonnie sat as a judge on the Commonwealth’s general jurisdiction jury trial court, trying felony criminal matters and large civil disputes and business disputes. Nonnie currently serves on the BBF Board of Trustees, the BBF Executive Committee and BBF Development Committee. She is also a previous BBA Council memeber. Nonnie is very involved with Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, having been a part of the organization in some capacity since 1985. She currently serves on the Board of Directors. Nonnie received her J.D. from Northeastern University Law School in 1978 and her undergraduate degree from Wellesley College.
