David Keene

David Keene has been involved in the fields of public policy and politics since 1968. He worked in the Nixon White House as a political assistant to Vice President Agnew and on Capitol Hill as executive assistant to Senator James L. Buckley. His business experience involves both domestic and international trade policy issues. He led the N.R.A. and, for 29 years, the American Conservative Union, which organizes the influential annual Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC. He was also a columnist. Keene died in March 2026 in Baltimore at the age of 80, but was "Wisconsin bred" David Arthur Keene was born on May 20, 1945, in Rockford, Ill. and grew up in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, He received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1970.
