In February 2026, Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) today its Board of Directors appointed Greg Foran as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Foran will also join Kroger's Board of Directors and succeeds Ron Sargent, who served as interim CEO since March 2025. Born in New Zealand, Foran began his career at age 17 as a shelf-stacker at Australia-based Woolworths. Following senior leadership roles at Woolworths, Foran joined Walmart in 2011, Foran led Walmart U.S. for six years, and managed more than 4,600 stores and one million associates. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand since February 2020. He held a series of senior positions across the company’s international footprint, including President and CEO of Walmart China (2012–2014), Walmart Asia (2014), and Walmart U.S. (2014–2019).
