Daniel Waldmann

Waldmann, 37, will assume his new post on June 8, reporting to Trevor Fetter, Tenet’s president and chief executive officer. He will be responsible for directing all of Tenet’s government relations activities at the local, state and federal levels. He will have offices at Tenet headquarters in Dallas and in Washington. Since June 2003, Waldmann has served as director, federal affairs and reimbursement, for Johnson & Johnson Inc., managing its advocacy on Medicare reimbursement and other health policy issues for J&J’s medical device companies. Previously, he was an independent consultant providing counsel and advocacy for a wide variety of clients in the health care industry. From 2000 to 2003, Waldmann also served as executive director of the Medical Technology Leadership Forum, a non-profit educational organization formed to encourage dialogue between leaders in the medical device industry, health care delivery and the government on issues related to medical innovation. He also served as reimbursement counsel to the Medical Device Manufacturers Assn. From 1997 to 2000, Waldmann worked as an attorney in the food and drug department of McKenna & Cuneo LLP, an international law firm headquartered in Washington. From 1994 to 1997, he was employed by Medtronic Inc. as legislative counsel in the company’s government affairs office.
