Michael W. Adcock joined Van Scoyoc Associates, Inc. (VSA), as Vice President in 1996 after serving more than thirteen years in senior level positions in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to joining VSA he served for five years as Chief of Staff to Congressman Bud Cramer (AL) and for eight years as press secretary and legislative assistant to Congressman Ronnie Flippo (AL). Adcock has broad political, legislative, and communications experience. He has worked extensively on budget and appropriations issues related to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Department of Defense, electric utilities, higher education, health care and transportation and infrastructure. He also served as the senior political and campaign consultant to U.S. Representatives Cramer and Flippo and was responsible for developing an integrated legislative and campaign communications plan for each election cycle. Adcock oversees the firm's work for the University of Alabama System, which is comprised of 3 campuses and is one of the nation's premiere medical schools. He has played a leading role in the emergence of the system over the past decade, and has subsequently developed considerable expertise in both planning and executing federal funding initiatives.
