Founder and chairman emeritus of Business Wire, a news-distribution company in San Francisco, which he sold to Berkshire Hathaway in 2006.
Mr. Lokey graduated from Stanford in 1949. He has given more than $140 million to the University of Oregon, but never attended the university.
