Mary Shields specializes in helping education and health care institutions secure funding for their infrastructure and programmatic needs, and promote their specific policy initiatives in Congress. In her many years spent working on behalf of a broad spectrum of colleges, universities, hospitals, health centers, and other corporate and non-profit clients, she has achieved remarkable success in garnering political and financial support for their projects. Since she joined Cassidy & Associates in 1987, Ms. Shields has worked with innumerable Senate Committees and Subcommittees, as well as many in the House of Representatives, to develop productive and fruitful partnerships for our clients. Before working for Senator Roth, Ms. Shields served as an issue analyst for the 1984 Reagan-Bush presidential campaign, and was Co-coordinator of Volunteers for the 1985 Reagan-Bush Presidential Inaugural Committee. Her past campaign and inauguration work translates into close ties to the current Bush Administration. Ms. Shields entered the political realm after spending the early part of her career in the field of education, where she was a teacher and administrator in a number of private and secondary schools, and served in the administration at Rosemount College in Rosemount, Pennsylvania from 1976 to 1980.
