Kenneth R. Hoffman is a member of the firm’s employee benefitsand executive compensation practice group. His extensive experience includes executive compensation and employment agreements (including stock options and other forms of equity compensation), qualified and non-qualified retirement plans (including retirement plans for governmental and tax-exempt organizations), tax-sheltered annuities, negotiating compensation and benefits for represented employees, advice regarding multiple and multiemployer plans, fiduciary advice regarding retirement plans, worker classification issues with respect to benefit plans, ERISA and benefit issues in acquisitions and mergers, and representation before Congress with respect to legislative changes in single and multiemployer retirement plans. Mr. Hoffman is a member of the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association. He has also been active in a number of bar association committees and is a past chairperson of the MSBA Section of Taxation, as well as the past president of the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland. Mr. Hoffman has also been involved with the ABA and MSBA Employee Benefits Committees. In addition to his professional memberships, Mr. Hoffman is a member of the Tax Advisory Committee to Congressman Benjamin Cardin, serves as Secretary/Treasurer and Trustee of the National Aquarium in Baltimore Foundation, Inc., is a director of the National Aquarium Institute, was a member of the Comptroller’s Task Force to Study the Impact of the Tax Reform Act of 1986 on the State of Maryland, was adjunct professor in the University of Baltimore Graduate Tax Program, and is a past Chair (and current member) of the Board of Directors, CollegeBound Foundation, Inc.
