Susann A. Miller Edwards, Vice President, brings to her work a unique combination of planning, policy and political campaign experience combined with exceptional creativity and enthusiasm. Susann focuses on assisting technology clients in navigating Washington and manages grassroots community group involvement for the firm's Military Base Enhancement Practice. Susann's breadth of experience around Washington has been built around political and public affairs. Prior to joining The Rhoads Group, Susann was public affairs associate for online-voting industry leader, VoteHere, Inc., where she served as one of VoteHere's primary Washington representatives. Susann's tenure at VoteHere was focused on coordinating and communicating with Congress, the Department of Defense and the military community for election reform, military voting and technology policy. In 1999, Susann was honored to be named as Special Assistant to then-Secretary of Commerce, Norman Mineta in the Clinton Administration. While at the Department of Commerce, Susann was responsible for coordinating the Secretary's technology policy and international trade agenda. Susann began her Washington career at the Democratic National Committee, where she served in the Office of Party Affairs, and was responsible for coordinating with the state parties in the southeastern region. During the 2000 election, Ms. Miller was honored to serve as the Coordinator of the Platform Committee, Chaired by U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Blanche Lambert Lincoln. Ms. Miller continued her involvement, serving in a volunteer role as the Coordinator of Amendments for 2004 Platform Committee Chairs U.S. Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones, Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, and Los Angeles City Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa. Susann, a native of many states, generally claims South Carolina as home. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
