Mark Preston is executive editor for CNN Politics, reporting on campaigns, polling and politics across the network's platforms, including CNN, CNN International and CNN.com. Preston joined CNN in 2005 as political editor. Prior to joining CNN, Preston was a senior staff writer for the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call, where he worked for six years. His career also includes correspondent roles at States News Service, a wire service in Washington, and at the Marietta Daily Journal in Marietta, Georgia, where he won several Georgia Press Association and Georgia Associated Press reporting awards. Preston received two bachelor of art's degrees, in journalism and history, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
