During my 40 year career in the energy industry I was an expert on the interstate natural gas pipeline and storage industries with a background in eastern North America gas and power markets. In April 2014 I retired from IHS CERA as a Senior Director with the CERA North American Gas team. While at IHS CERA I focused on issues related to gas prices and basis; pipeline flows and development; storage usage and development; and the impacts on gas prices, gas flows, and the need for new infrastructure. I authored numerous IHS CERA reports on supply and demand impacts, market strategies, new development effects, and gas trends. I served as Chair of the Demand Task Group and as a member of the Leadership Team for the US National Petroleum Council (NPC) 2011 study whose report Prudent Development - Realizing the Potential of North America’s Abundant Natural Gas and Oil Resources provided policy recommendations to the US Secretary of Energy on natural gas and oil markets. Before joining IHS CERA, I had a long career at ANR Pipeline Company, where I held a number of executive positions including Director of Energy Forecasting, Director of Revenue Forecasting, Director of Market Research and Planning, and Director of Strategic Planning, among others. With the ANR Storage Company I was Director of Planning and Regulatory Affairs and Director of Financial Planning and Control, among other positions. I also worked for the Michigan Consolidated Gas Company as Manager of their Treasury Department responsible for cash management and long-term debt. Before that I worked for National Bank of Detroit as a commercial lender in the Energy Department. Prior to joining National Bank of Detroit I served in the US Army including a tour of Vietnam. I hold a BBA and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
