She is a senior program associate at the Council of the Americas, an organization in New York that promotes trade in the Western Hemisphere. She graduated from Yale and received a master's degree in public affairs from Princeton. Her father, who retired as a partner in the New York law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, is a senior vice president and the general counsel of Sotheby's, the auction house in New York. Her mother, Marnie Pillsbury, is the executive director of the David Rockefeller Fund, a foundation in New York. The bride is a granddaughter of John S. Pillsbury Jr., a former chairman of Northwestern National Life Insurance Company in Minneapolis, now known as Reliastar Inc., and of Robert D. Stuart Jr., who retired as the chairman of the Quaker Oats Company in Chicago and later was the United States ambassador to Norway. She is a descendant of Charles A. Pillsbury, a founder of Pillsbury, the Minneapolis food company.
