Charlie Shipp is a founder and managing partner of SC Partners LLC in Washington, DC. He is responsible for the overall management of the firm as well as providing legislative and issue lobbying support for the Firm’s clients before the Congress, Federal Agencies and the Administration. Prior to founding this firm, Mr. Shipp served as a principle in Charles Shipp & Associates, a Washington DC based lobbying firm. Mr. Shipp has also served as Vice President of Congressional Affairs for AT&T from 1994 to 2001. During his tenure at AT&T, he managed congressional affairs on all telecommunications issues including, labor, judiciary, patent and copyright protection, campaign finance, and trade and tax issues. Prior to becoming Vice President in 1994, Mr. Shipp served as Director, Government Affairs in Atlanta and Washington DC. Under President George Bush, Mr. Shipp was appointed to serve as a White House Loaned Executive in 1989 and served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Agriculture. During his two year tenure in the Administration he focused on trade issues. Mr. Shipp earned a M.B.A. from University of Texas, and a B.A. from Colorado University.
