Prior to joining Sher & Blackwell in 1996, Mr. Pike worked for the U.S. House of Representatives for 16 years. In his last assignment as Chief of Staff of the House of Representatives Committee on Merchant Marine and Fisheries, Mr. Pike was deeply involved in virtually every maritime, fisheries, oceans and environment bill considered by the House including, the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Mammal Protection Act, Merchant Marine Act, Oil Pollution Act, Ocean Dumping Act, and numerous other laws. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Staff, Mr. Pike was staff director for the Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife and the Environment and a professional staff member of the Coast Guard and Oceanography Subcommittees. Before coming to Washington, D.C. in 1978, Mr. Pike was an owner and operator of his own commercial fishing vessel out of Chatham, Massachusetts.
