Marti Thomas joined Quinn Gillespie & Associates' (QGA) in January 2001 and was made partner later that year. Ms. Thomas provides counsel on a variety of legislative and regulatory affairs matters for clients including DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, SBC Communications, National Association of Relators, and the International Dairy Foods Association. Ms. Thomas joins the firm after serving as Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs and Public Liaison at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. She first came to the Department in 1998 to hold the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary for Tax and Budget. Prior to Treasury, Thomas was Executive Floor Assistant to House Democratic Leader Richard A. Gephardt (D-MO). She joined Leader Gephardt's staff in 1989 after two years in the political department of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). She has also held positions with former U.S. Senator Don Riegle (D-MI), former U.S. Representative Sam Gejdenson (D-CT), and the National Women's Political Caucus. Ms. Thomas is a graduate of Wesleyan University (BA) and Georgetown University Law Center (JD.) She is a Member of the Connecticut and District of Columbia Bars.
