"I work to make sure digedu is aware of and appropriately responding to political and policy developments impacting its business; making a name for itself as a thought leader in the education technology industry; and building an engaged user community. When I am not doing those things, I hang out with my beautiful, wonderful wife; play soccer; have fun with my old-school NES; and explore Chicago, usually by seeking out dive bars in hidden corners. Previously, I worked as a legislative aide--the Senator's eyes and ears, a constituent helper, and a drafter of letters and testimony on important district issues--to State Senator Thomas K. Duane (29th District; Manhattan), after which I traveled abroad for three months in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. I then landed in Albuquerque to coach soccer for three months. I came home to Chicago in 2010 and worked on a couple of campaigns, and then went to work keeping the Deputy Mayor's daily life on track, in addition to researching and executing economic policy. Subsequently, I helped coordinate the Mayor's anti-violence and community engagement strategies."
