Mr. Katz is the chief executive and principal owner of Sherwood Equities Inc., which has developed and manages more than $3 billion in commercial real estate. The proper tie s include the iconic One Times Square, home of the New Year’s Eve crystal ball drop, and Two Times Square. The Sherwood Outdoor division controls the illuminated signs on both buildings. Jeffrey Katz is the CEO and principal owner of Sherwood Equities, a privately held real estate development company. Over the past 30 years he has owned, developed, and managed properties valued in excess of $2 billion. He has been actively involved in reshaping the Times Square area for two decades. As the developer of One Times Square, Two Times Square, and 1600 Broadway on the Square, Jeffrey Katz has successfully leased, and currently operates, three of Times Square’s more prominent properties. The development of Two Times Square was widely recognized for its unique integration into the building of seven super signs, and the project was honored by the Municipal Arts Society, receiving one of City Club of New York’s 27th Annual Bard Awards for Excellence in Architecture and Urban Design. Because of the fully integrated relationship between buildings and signage in Times Square,Katz formed Sherwood Outdoor, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sherwood Equities, Inc., which has become the premier sign company in Times Square. Jeffrey Katz received his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is an active Board Member of the Times Square Alliance (formerly Times Square Business Improvement District).
