Doug Peterson was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of McGraw Hill Financial, effective November 1, 2013. Previously, Doug was the Chief Operating Officer of Citibank, N.A., Citigroup’s principal banking entity that operates in over 100 countries. Doug was with Citigroup for 26 years, during which time he transformed businesses and drove performance in investment banking, brokerage, asset management, private equity and retail banking. Until the beginning of 2010, he was the CEO of Citigroup, Japan where he oversaw the entire franchise, managing over 15,000 employees and successfully repositioning the business. Doug had previously been the Chief Auditor of Citigroup from 2001 to 2004 after he led the enterprise-wide project to integrate the Internal Audit teams after the merger of Citicorp and Travelers. In prior roles, he served as Country Manager in Costa Rica and Uruguay and as a corporate banker in Argentina and New York. Doug received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and History at Claremont McKenna College and his master of business administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Doug has previously served on the boards of the American Chambers of Commerce (in Costa Rica, Uruguay, and Japan) and the International Bankers Association of Japan. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of McGraw Hill Financial, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Systemic Resolution Advisory Committee, the Institute of International Finance’s Market Monitoring Group, the Board of Advisors of Wharton Financial Institutions Center, the Kravis Leadership Institute, and the Board of Trustees of Claremont McKenna College and the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
