MICHELE ILENE RUIZ is a partner in Sidley’s Investment Funds, Advisers and Derivatives practice, resident in Sidley’s Chicago office. Michele counsels clients in connection with a broad range of derivatives, securities, and regulatory matters. Michele is a member of the Board of Directors of Leadership Greater Chicago and is a Class of 2006 LGC Fellow. Michele is a member of the Advisory Board of the Women’s Bar Foundation of Illinois. She is a past co-chair of the Alliance of Latinos and Jews. Michele was three times appointed by U.S. Senator Dick Durbin to a screening committee to assist the Senator in selecting Federal District Court Judges and a U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Illinois. A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, Michele obtained her Doctor of Law from The Law School at The University of Chicago.
