Eric Pelletier, a GE Capital executive who worked in the White House of President George W. Bush, joined Alibaba as head of international government affairs, based in Washington, in 2015. Pelletier has worked at GE for 10 years, most recently as GE Capital’s Global Executive Leader for Government Affairs and Policy. Before that, he was GE’s Senior Manager of Government Affairs and Policy. In the Bush White House, Pelletier was Deputy Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. Before that, he was the Office of Management and Budget Associate Director for Legislative Affairs. Before moving to the White House, Pelletier worked on Capitol Hill as deputy staff director of the House Rules Committee, and as a legislative assistant to the late Rep. Gerald B.H. Solomon (R-NY). Pelletier received a bachelor’s in political science and history from Eastern University, in Pennsylvania, in 1992.
