Jeffrey Brooks

B. Jeffrey Brooks, Partner in Charge of the Washington, D.C. office and Governmental Relations Practice Team Leader with the law firm of Adams and Reese LLP, has been named Special Business Services Practice Group Leader by the firm, joining fellow partner currently serving, Craig Townsend. Brooks joined the Washington office after serving three years as chief counsel and director of special projects for Congressman Richard Baker. During his tenure with Congressman Baker, Brooks was responsible for all economic development projects and for developing and handling appropriations, transportation, health care, environment and banking issues for Congressman Baker. As counsel to Congressman Baker, Brooks was involved in the day to day legislative activities of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, including the early stages of the formation of TEA-21. Additionally, Brooks was Congressman Baker's state director for his Louisiana district offices. Prior to joining Baker's staff in 1994, Mr. Brooks served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Pickett, Chief Judge, Louisiana's Eleventh Judicial District. Brooks received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Orleans in 1990, where he was the president of the University of New Orleans Student Government Association. In 1993, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. Brooks represents clients with legislative issues involving transportation, appropriations, public works, education, and the environment. Mr. Brooks' practice also involves advising clients on matters relating to the Federal Lobbying Disclosure Act.
