Steven H. Becker is a member of the Firm's Global Tax Practice Group in the New York office. Mr. Becker's practice focuses on customs and international trade, as well as tax refund and other claims grounded on constitutional provisions. He has represented a variety of clients before the United States Customs Service, the Internal Revenue Service and other federal and state taxing agencies, and the federal and state courts. Mr. Becker has also counseled companies in tariff classification disputes before the World Customs Organization. Clients include U.S. importers and their agents, exporters of licensable goods, foreign exporters of goods to the U.S. and other countries, as well as companies engaged in a variety of domestic trade. Mr. Becker came to Baker & McKenzie from Coudert Brothers LLP, where he was co-chair of that firm’s Global Customs and International Trade Practice. Mr. Becker is a former Committee Chairman and Treasurer, member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Litigation and Customs & Tariffs Committee of the Customs and International Trade Bar Association.
