Maria Luisa Escudero is an associate in King & Spalding’s Government Advocacy and Public Policy Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Ms. Escudero represents national and international clients before the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch with a focus on intellectual property, energy, defense and international trade matters. Her practice includes representing corporate and non-profit clients seeking to obtain federal appropriations. Born and raised in Spain, Ms. Escudero frequently draws on her civil law background and Spanish fluency to assist clients. Her practice also includes providing advice and counsel to Spanish companies seeking to enter the U.S. market. Ms. Escudero received her J.D. from Deusto Law School in Bilbao, Spain and holds a Master’s degree in International and Comparative Law (L.L.M.) from George Washington University Law School. In addition to Spanish, she is also fluent in French, having lived in France for over a year where she attended law school under an Erasmus Mundus scholarship awarded by the European Commission. She also has working knowledge of Italian.
