Leo Helmers

Mr. Leo A. Helmers, CFA, serves as a Trustee of The Shipley School and Lafayette College. He served as the Managing Director at The Carlyle Group LP. He joined the firm in August 2003. Mr. Helmers served as Senior Vice President at TCW/Crescent Mezzanine Partners, L.L.C and Trust Company of the West, where he was responsible for investing and managing a portfolio of mezzanine capital across three private limited partnerships. Prior to joining TCW, he was a Managing Director at Hamilton Lane Advisors, Inc. Mr. Helmers was also a Senior Credit Analyst at Midlantic Corp. He serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Combined Systems, Inc., Targus Group International, Inc., and Shari's Management Corporation. He serves as a Member of Board of Directors for ACG Philadelphia. He serves as a Board Observer of American Achievement Corporation and Hawkeye Concrete Products Company. He served as a Director of Taylor-Wharton International, Inc. Mr. Helmers was a Director of Lincoln Industrial Corp. and a Board Observer of Instron Corp., Wastequip Inc., Collegiate Funding Services, LLC, Phoenix Scientific, Inc., Gate Gourmet Group, Safety Insurance Group, Inc., and VCA Antech, Inc. He has over 19 years of experience in the private debt and equity markets. Mr. Helmers is a C.F.A. charterholder. He received his M.B.A. from Temple University and a B.S. from Lafayette College
