Raised in New York, Andrew Hauptman graduated with a B.A. from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard University. He worked as an executive with Universal Studios in London, and in restructuring and mergers and acquisitions with Alex. Brown & Sons in New York. Hauptman co-chairs Andell Inc., a private investment firm and family office with investments primarily in entertainment, sports, and consumer products. He is owner and chairman of Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire. He and his wife have given at least $1 million to the Barack Obama Foundation. Other giving focuses on Los Angeles, including Community Partners for the Institute for Nonviolence in Los Angeles, LAANE, Equity California Institute, Community Partners for the Institute for Nonviolence in Los Angeles, and the Aspen Institute The Hauptmans have ties to both Chicago and Los Angeles. Hauptman is president of Chicago Fire Foundation and they've supported World Business Chicago and Mayor's Fund for Los Angeles.
