Andrew Wheeler

Andrew Wheeler is originally from Ohio, and currently serves as AFPI’s Chairman of the Center for the Environment. He previously served as the 15th Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on February 28, 2019, having previously served as the Acting Administrator and the Senate confirmed Deputy Administrator. Prior to his service at the EPA, Wheeler was a consultant and of counsel at Faegre, Baker Daniels law firm. He was the team leader of the energy and environment consulting practice team and co-chair of the firm-wide Energy and Natural Resources industry team. Wheeler also spent fourteen years working in the United States Senate including six years as the Staff Director and Chief Counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, six years as the Clean Air, Climate Change, and Nuclear Safety Subcommittee Staff Director, and two years as General Counsel to Senator Jim Inhofe. He graduated with a BA from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from George Mason University and a JD from Washington University in St. Louis after which he started as a career employee at the EPA in the Toxics Office, where he was awarded three bronze medals. Andrew Wheeler is an Eagle Scout.
