After receiving his J.D. from the University of Iowa Law School with high distinction in 1994, Bart clerked for Judge Michael S. Kanne of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. (1990) Prior to his service in the Department of Justice, Bart was an associate with the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where his practice included commercial litigation, product liability, mass tort litigation, and white collar criminal defense.
