Clayco, a national innovator in the real estate development and design-build industry, announced the hiring of Carmen Lonstein as vice president general counsel in December 2013. In this role, she will focus on litigation, risk avoidance, infrastructure pursuits, finance, and provide legal support for new transactions and business ventures from the Chicago office. Prior to joining Clayco, Lonstein was a partner at Baker & McKenzie LLP, where she was also chair of the firm’s Financial Restructuring Practice Group in North America. She has more than 26 years of experience representing clients in complex commercial, real estate and business matters, and related litigation in U.S. courts. She received her juris doctorate from New York University, and her bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from Hunter College of The City University of New York.
