Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zimmerman served for eight years as Pennsylvania's first-elected Attorney General, where he was responsible for formulating the legal and law enforcement strategies for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He has substantial trial and appellate court litigation experience in major complex civil and criminal cases, including multi-state litigation and litigation dealing with mergers, public corruption, toxic waste and consumer protection. He has personally argued several cases before the United States Supreme Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Mr. Zimmerman, who has chaired the Criminal Law Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General and the Federal-State Executive Working Group for Prosecutorial Relations, is active in a number of national and state law enforcement organizations and has served on the Boards of Directors of numerous leading educational, healthcare and nonprofit organizations. During his tenure as Attorney General, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, the Board of Finance and Revenue, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, and the Asbestos Litigation Task Force. He is a past president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association and past member of the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee and Judiciary Planning Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as well as the House of Delegates, Judiciary Committee and other key committees of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Mr. Zimmerman serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hershey Trust Company, Chairman of the Board of Managers of the Milton Hershey School and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company. He is a Board member of The Hershey Company and The M.S. Hershey Foundation. Mr. Zimmerman serves on the Board of Counselors of The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University, President of The Pennsylvania Society, Co-chair of the Society of Attorneys General Emeriti (former attorneys general of the states), Trustee of The Hall Foundation and a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and honors from professional, educational and civic organizations including an honorary Doctor of Public Service honoris causa from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology and an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University.
