Gordon Taylor brings over 10 years of years of experience on Capitol Hill, most recently a Chief of Staff to Congressman Chris John (D-LA). He served as primary advisor to Congressman John for his Energy & Commerce committee work and was Congressman John’s primary contact for the Blue Dog Coalition, New Democrat Coalition and Minority Leader’s African American Working Group. Mr. Taylor spearheaded Congressman John’s efforts to secure passage of the national 811 three-digit-dialing initiative that promotes the safety of underground facilities including gas, pipelines, power and telecommunications infrastructure. Mr. Taylor started with Congressman John in 1996 as his Legislative Director and Counsel serving as his senior policy advisor. In this role he handled energy, environment, tax, trade and defense issues, while working on policy issues related to Congressman John’s service on the House Agriculture and House Resources Committees. Mr. Taylor began his career on Capitol Hill in 1994 with Congressman James A. Hayes (R-LA). He served as a legislative assistant and press secretary for Congressman Hayes and worked on tax issues related to the Congressman’s service on the House Ways and Means Committee. Prior to joining Ogilvy Government Relations, Mr. Taylor was a Senior Government Relations Counselor for Arent Fox, LLC, where he represented a variety of clients on issues including pandemic bird flu, energy futures, video franchising and anti-dumping duty assessments. In addition to his professional experiences, Mr. Taylor has worked in high-level positions on House, Senate and Gubernatorial campaigns. Mr. Taylor holds a B.A from Emory University and a J.D. from George Washington University.
